This volunteer-operated nonprofit organization focuses exclusively on rescuing cats from municipal shelters throughout Long Island and the surrounding tri-state region. Operating since 2012, the organization has facilitated the rescue and rehabilitation of thousands of shelter cats, providing them with care at their dedicated adoption center until permanent homes are found. The facility serves as a transitional space where rescued cats can decompress from shelter stress in a calm environment with multiple rooms, climbing structures, and areas for both socialization and retreat. Cats initially stay in individual condos for safety and comfort, then gradually gain access to roam freely throughout the space as they adjust. The center also provides permanent sanctuary for feral cats who require long-term care but cannot be placed in traditional homes. As a completely volunteer-run 501c3 organization, all donations and contributions go directly toward cat rescue operations, medical care, and facility maintenance. The organization relies on community support through monetary donations, wishlist items for daily cat care needs, and a specific shelter run fund that covers the direct costs of removing cats from municipal shelter situations.
